Description
Kaethe Schwehn writes of her ten-month sojourn at Holden Village, a Lutheran retreat center in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State. In 2001, the twenty-two-year-old went to work at Holden as a teaching assistant at the school in the village. For her, the time was also a period of transition--from a life as a teacher to a writer, from having a romantic interest to a life without him, and an in-between time of her life to figure out who she is and who she would like to become.
